September to November sea levels and tide tables

Sea-levels around Kosrae are likely to be around 4 inches higher than normal over the next few months.

High tides above 7 feet are expected on the following dates:

  • Friday 3rd to Tuesday 7th November
  •  Saturday 18th to Monday 20th November

During these periods (and possibly the days just before and afterwards) flooding of low lying areas is likely to occur, particularly if larger waves coincide with high tide. Wave overwashing at places such as Paal and Mosral is highly likely.

The tide tables for September, October and November can be downloaded from the links below:

English: Sept-2017Oct-2017 | Nov-2017

Kosraean: Septempuh-2017Oktopa-2017 | Nohfuhmpuh-2017

Rainfall: Over the last 3 months (June, July and August),  Kosrae has experienced drier than normal conditions. Slightly drier conditions are expected to continue through September with near normal rainfall expected for the remainder of the year.

Typhoons: There is only a low likelihood of typhoons impacting or passing close to Kosrae over the remainder of this year.
